Psalm 146:3-9
(New King James Version)
Do not put your trust in princes,
Nor in a son of man, in whom there is no help.
His spirit departs, he returns to his earth;
In that very day his plans perish.
Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help,
Whose hope is in the Lord his God,
Who made heaven and earth,
The sea, and all that is in them;
Who keeps truth forever,
Who executes justice for the oppressed,
Who gives food to the hungry.
The Lord gives freedom to the prisoners.
The Lord opens the eyes of the blind;
The Lord raises those who are bowed down;
The Lord loves the righteous.
Lord watches over the strangers;
He relieves the orphans and widows;
But the way of the wicked He turns upside down.

I love this passage because I just left two different blogs that were talking about "pastors/preachers" misleading, fornicating, abusing, and everything else. And my comment was get into God's word for yourself, do not rely on man to lead you. God is holding you responsible for you. If you get into His word the Holy Spirit will reveal things to you and bring understanding! But you must get in that word!
Blessings!
Good advice Regina. You're right... God is definitely holding us responsible. Every man and womman must read and pray for himself. A good pastor, however, is invaluable. The trick is to find a true man or woman of God.
I just heard a very enlightening talk today at church by a minister that revealed a profound message to me (I hope everybody else got as much out of it as I did). I'll write about it in my next post.
Peace and blessings,
Alicia
Happy Kwanzaa and happy holidays. I hope you and your daughter the best. I hope 2008 brings all the prosperity God wants you to have.
Peace, Rick HU/Grad/87
Thanks.
