This StoryCorps animated film tells the story of Alex Landau, an African American man, raised by white parents in Denver, Colorado. He was pulled over and severly beaten by police in 2009. Thank God he lives to tell the story.

Yesterday I sent this out to Pam because she has two of my grandkids, Tracie has sent it out to, even to me. thank you so very much. I convers with my Sunday School class on how to only say "YES SIR AND NO SIR" no matter how hard it is to KEEP YOUR MOUTH CLOSED! when stopped by the police, state troopers, etc they have an agenda against people of color. Some may not but you never know so don't take a chance.
You're right. It's better to be overly polite to an underserving police officer than dead. That being said, we shouldn't have to walk on egg shells when we see or come into contact with the police. We deserve more respect and our lives are precious.
