Lifting Me Up

I'm praying that the defilement, humiliation, anger brought on by insensitive comments made by people who don't seem to know better, anxiety brought on by abandonment, betrayal and neglect; low self-esteem, loss of family, and callousness, will all continue to be washed away. God, I know you didn't bring me this far to leave me. I can feel you lifting me up out of the fire when I ask you to. Thank you.

I'm happy for you that you have made that leap of faith and started your new life. It gets easier, and can even become joyous in time.

About the red dirt, I read that the color is often caused by rusted iron or aluminum in the dirt. It can be found in California and Nevada, but it isn't clay here, just dirt. Red dirt is also found in Hawaii, where it is made up of broken-down volcanic material. There is a Native American legend very similar to Noah's flood story that says the redness comes from the flood victims' blood.

Anne,
Yes, I'm sure that my new life in Charlotte will become more joyous in time. I'm lookig forward to that.

Thanks for the information about the red dirt. I will look more into that. I had no idea that Hawaii had the red dirt. I'm really fascinated by the Native American legend about the redness coming from the flood victims' blood. That's along the lines of what I imagined.
